Cathedral of Santiago

Interactive 3D visualization | Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Customer: Conselleria de Cultura e Turismo | Xunta de Galicia.
2010

This is a museum installation based on a multitouch system where the user interacts with his hands on the screen with a three-dimensional virtual model of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. At the same time the user can access to specific relevant information of elements of the basilica.

In a first approach, the user accesses to the environment and the old city of Santiago de Compostela in three dimensions locating it geographically as the place where different pilgrimage ways converge.

From there the user can access to a detailed three-dimensional model of the cathedral where you can see the main building elements and stylistic details.

Through the interface the visitor interacts with its hands with the virtual model of the Cathedral, being able to explore it and analyze it by different methods such as zoom, pan, rotate and section in any plane in real time.

This project was awarded with the Architectural 3D Awards 2011 in the category Real Time Presentation. The 3D Awards organized by CG Architects, are the most important prizes at international level in Architectural Visualization
